SailAhead recently had the privilege of presenting before the Suffolk County Veterans Committee to share our efforts to improve the lives of veterans through sailing, birding, and other community-based outdoor programs.

Over the past year, SailAhead has continued to expand opportunities for veterans to connect with one another, spend time outdoors, learn new skills, and find purpose through meaningful activities on and around the water. During the presentation, we discussed our mission, recent accomplishments, and our vision for the future, including expanding programming throughout Suffolk County and strengthening partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to veteran wellbeing.
We were encouraged by the warm reception from legislators and county staff, and by the shared dedication to supporting veterans and preventing veteran suicide. Suffolk County is home to a strong network of organizations, volunteers, and public servants working to make a difference, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of that conversation.

We would like to thank the Suffolk County Veterans Committee, the County Executive's Office, and all those who took the time to learn more about SailAhead and the veterans we serve. In particular, we would like to thank Legislator Chad Lennon, Chair of the Veterans Committee, for inviting us to present, as well as Legislator Rebecca Sanin, whose support helped bring SailAhead to the Committee's attention.
We look forward to continuing our work throughout Suffolk County and exploring new opportunities to connect veterans with the healing power of community, nature, and the maritime environment.
Fair winds,
The SailAhead Team
