Our Mates are a big part of SailAhead. USMC LCpl Michael Blanco hailed from Commack and graduated high school early to join the marines. The Babylon Yacht Club started its partnership with SailAhead in 2018 to honor Michael Blanco and his family, including his parents Bruce and Donna Blanco.

It is SailAhead's hope that by talking about Michael, and in doing so sharing his story, we can make a difference in the lives of struggling veterans who come to our events. We want to urge them to seek help and companionship, as we believe the right people are out there to help reduce veteran suicides. Learn about Michael's incredible life here.
