Project Description:

SailAhead is proud to announce that Stargazer, a 2007 Hunter 38 from the USMMA Sailing Foundation, joins our fleet!

The USMMA Sailing Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 public foundation. Its mission is to actively solicit funds and donations of sail and power vessels for use in the various programs, maritime instruction, maritime education, and sailing competitions. The Warrior Sailing Program is a program of the Foundation and is focused on introducing wounded, ill and injured military service members to the sport of sailing and maritime education.

The condition of this boat is “like new”; she is easy to sail, well equipped, very roomy and comfortable.
This new addition to our growing fleet is significant and will allow us to take more veterans to the water.
Her name is currently "Bel Vento" and will be renamed Stargazer. Stargazer was the name of a sailboat that belonged to a US Coast Guard officer who was actively involved with the USMMA Sailing Foundation and who has recently passed away.

Stargazer is currently on land at Willis Marine Center where she is being prepared for the season. We expect her to be launched by the first week of May 2016 at which time she will be sailed to her new home base in Oyster Bay.

We are fortunate to have such dedicated and successful organizations as our partners supporting us. This proves, yet again, that our work is valued and needed.

Thank you Ralf and Thank you USMMA Sailing Foundation!

On behalf of the veterans we are privileged to work with, we express our gratitude to USMMA Sailing Foundation for choosing SailAhead and giving us this unique opportunity.
